The 2-Month Transformation of 4 Oxalis Street

When we first stepped into 4 Oxalis Street in Milnerton, I knew we were looking at something special. The large front garden, the spacious rooms, and the high ceilings spoke of a home with immense potential. It wasn’t just about giving it a facelift, it was about breathing new life and light :D) into every corner.

The Vision

From the outset, our mission was to create a space that was beautiful, functional, and sustainable. A space that families could see themselves in for many years to come – a space that is remembered as light and joyful. Guided by our principles of quality and innovation, we embarked on a full-scale renovation that would transform the house inside and out.

This project is very special and memorable for the SK Projects Team as not only did we complete a large full scale residential home renovation in just over 2 months, the finished home also sold 24hrs after being listed on the market! The Transformation:

When purchased the house was dark and compartmentalized, we saw this as an opportunity to create a more open, inviting space filled with plenty of natural light. We reimagined the layout, taking down walls and adding extra windows and entryways. The outdoor space, once overgrown and neglected, was rejuvenated to become a tranquil haven.

Interior Design Excellence:

Inside, we played with high-quality materials like Pandomo plaster, extensively used in the bathrooms and living areas to set a sophisticated tone throughout. Our focus was on creating a sense of flow throughout the house with an open-plan design. The living area was designed to be clutter-free and functional, featuring a separate scullery section. We also added ample windows to bring in natural light and created a porch leading out from the living space, perfect for family gatherings. The original fireplace was transformed into a feature piece, incorporating the same Pandomo plaster for consistency and elegance.

Outdoor Living Redefined:

The exterior space was transformed into a tranquil haven, featuring drought-tolerant plants and a recessed entrance that opens to an oversized door. This new layout promotes seamless indoor-outdoor living, perfect for Cape Town’s beautiful weather.

The success of 4 Oxalis Street is a testament to the high demand and appeal of our properties. Within 24 hours of hitting the market, it attracted significant interest and sold the day after it was launched.
